Simply Family Budget is an evolving software service. It may contain bugs, errors, interruptions, or inaccurate outputs, and it may be changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time.
The service is a budgeting tool only. It is not a bank, accounting firm, fiduciary, or professional advisory service.
By accessing or using Simply Family Budget (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You represent that you are legally able to enter into these Terms for yourself or for the organization, family, or household you represent.
You are responsible for the account credentials, devices, browser profiles, and linked email accounts used to access the Service.
You understand and agree that:
The Service may also be accessed through integrations such as ChatGPT or other AI-based interfaces, and functionality or outputs may vary depending on the integration you use.
The documented read-only public API is a supported access method for personal integrations and dashboards. Its formats, limits, versions, routes, and availability may change as described in the API documentation. You must respect published rate limits and may not attempt to bypass them.
You retain whatever rights you have in the information and content you submit to the Service. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, display, back up, and otherwise use that information only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service and to comply with law.
If you use the Service through ChatGPT or another integration, we process data transmitted through that integration only as reasonably necessary to fulfill your request and operate the Service.
You represent that you have the necessary rights and authority to submit the information you put into the Service, including invitation email addresses and shared household data.
You may not use the Service to:
Do not submit highly sensitive information such as full payment card numbers, passwords, or one-time passwords through the Service or through integrations.
Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy and Security Notice.
You acknowledge that no software or storage environment is perfectly secure. The Service uses reasonable safeguards, but we do not guarantee absolute security, uninterrupted availability, or prevention of every incident.
The Service may rely on third-party infrastructure and services such as hosting, email delivery, supported identity providers like Apple or Google, and AI platforms such as ChatGPT. Those services are outside our direct control and may affect availability, sign-in, message delivery, or how integrations function.
Third-party platforms and providers may also have their own terms and privacy policies, which can apply when you use their services to access or interact with Simply Family Budget.
User-configured integrations such as Home Assistant are third-party systems under your control. You are responsible for their configuration, security, retention, availability, and who can see any connected or shared display.
If you download or access the app through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another distribution channel, that platform is not responsible for the Service itself, its content, support, maintenance, or claims relating to it, except where law does not allow that statement to apply.
Simply Family Budget is a budgeting and record-keeping tool only. It does not provide financial, investment, accounting, tax, legal, compliance, or other professional advice.
Outputs delivered through AI or conversational interfaces may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate and should not be relied on without independent verification.
Data, balances, budget results, and forecasts returned through the public API are subject to the same accuracy, delay, availability, and no-professional-advice limitations.
You are solely responsible for reviewing your records, confirming important calculations, and deciding how to act on the information shown in the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, compatibility, or data recoverability.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Simply Family Budget and its operators, developers, licensors, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, data, or financial information, arising out of or related to the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Simply Family Budget for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) CAD $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Simply Family Budget and its operators, developers, licensors, contractors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, where reasonably necessary for operational, legal, abuse-prevention, payment, or security reasons.
We may delete accounts without notice when they are at least 365 days old, have had no login or other account activity for at least 180 days, and have zero stored budget data, meaning no wallets, budgets, transactions, or custom categories.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion through the in-app workflow or by contacting [email protected]. Deletion and ownership-transfer limits are described on our Delete Account page.
The Service, including its software, functionality, content structure, and branding, is owned by or licensed to Simply Family Budget and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Service for its intended purpose, these Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service or our branding.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, you and Simply Family Budget agree that courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting the revised version and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at [email protected].
Use Simply Family Budget as a support tool, not as a substitute for professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing your records and confirming important financial decisions.
